This dish is a traditional Odia dish, widely famous in the western part of Odisha.

It is really healthy as it is cooked with no spices.

‘Bahala Saag’

Ingredients
100 gm Bahala saag
2 tbsp refined oil
6-7 Urad Badi
1 tomato
1 chopped onion
1 red chilli
1 cup milk(kheer)
1/2 cup water
Salt to taste

Method of preparation

1. First, heat the Kadai and pour the oil.
2. Now add the chopped onion and fry until it’s golden brown in colour simultaneously add red chilli to it.
3. Urad Badi to be crushed into small pieces then add to the Kadai.
4. Mix it properly and let the badi also get fried for 1-2 min.
5. Add the Bahala saag, add tomato (chopped or mashed) then add salt as per taste.
6. Mix it well for 5-10 seconds and then add water to it.
7. Now cover the Kadai with a lit and let it cook for about 2-3 mins at a medium flame.
8. Add the milk(kheer) to it and mix it simultaneously.
9. Lastly, stir it continuously for 10-20 seconds.
10. Now your homemade ‘Bahala Saag’ is ready and can be served.
